I graduated New Mexico State University with my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in an assortment of different settings including school-based clinics, community-based clinics, inpatient settings and outpatient settings. I have found a passion for working with pre-teens, teens and adults who are willing to take steps to reach their personal growth goals!
My approach to counseling is ‘integrative,’ meaning rather than a single-school approach to therapy, I incorporate and combine many different therapeutic tools and approaches in order to meet the unique needs of each individual client. Some of the common modalities that I use include: Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive-Behavior therapy, Strength Based therapy, Mindfulness and Relaxation training, and Narrative therapy.
Every individual is the sum of their own experiences, beliefs, values, culture and abilities! As such, it is my goal to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment for my clients to lead the discussion where they need to go. The goal will be to assist clients in finding connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. From here, the hope is to build upon the client’s strengths in order to find coping strategies, process feelings and emotions and encourage self-awareness, insight, and autonomy. I look forward to meeting with you!
